Great fashion doesn’t fall short in Chicago, but one thing that’s always inspiring is to see what Chicago-based designers are up to. Neval, a globally inspired fashion line with a luxe edge, is no exception. On June 8, Neval, a sustainable, Chicago-made clothing line, launched the limited-edition Monarch Collection of elevated bombers and scarves at the uber-chic Arts Club of Chicago. On display were the brand’s elevated bombers and skinny neck scarves made in Chicago from Jamdani fabric from the Golden Village in Bangladesh. Guests gathered to check out the collection while enjoying cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a live performance.

Neval is a globally inspired, chic, luxury brand with a sustainable edge–and the best part? It’s based right here in Chicago. Founded and designed by Anadil Johnson to “preserve the art form of traditional craftsmanship,” the collection of elevated bomber jackets and scarves offers unique styles for women, while still honoring the artistry that goes in to each garment.

“Neval embodies a desire to seek beauty in the unexpected,” says Anadil Johnson. “Having grown up in many distinct cities around the globe, I wanted to bring the beauty of those cultures to life through modern-day fashion in the United States. The summer collection pays homage to my birthplace of Bangladesh, and as I continue to expand, I will source exotic fabrics from around the globe and manufacture in the USA to help form a new global village.”

Made in Chicago, this exclusive summer collection features the Boho Monarch silhouette, which is fitted and cropped with blousy statement sleeves, and the Urban Monarch, a design with raglan bracelet-length sleeves. The long, skinny neck scarves, also part of the debut Monarch Collection, are inspired by the ’70s. Each piece is made from the luxurious Jamdani fabric from the Golden Village in Bangladesh. Neval isn’t the first to use this coveted, handwoven fabric.

Jackets range from $695-795 and include 70 styles in black/white, blue/white and red/white, and scarves will be available for $195. Each jacket is reversible and features intricately detailed designs you won’t find anywhere else.
