As 2017 rolled into 2018, Atlantis, The Palm, a luxury hotel on Dubai’s manmade archipelago, The Palm Jumeriah, have been on a mission to break the world record for the largest tin of caviar. True to their word, they did just that, the Palm brought in a 50kg tin of caviar from the company AmStur. The tin used to hold the caviar was made of R304 stainless steel and it also was equipped with compartments to store frozen ice gel.
The celebration was one to remember, with more than 5,000 guests sampling the delicious refreshments and caviar, each using special engraved mother of pearl spoons to enjoy the occasion. In honor of this accomplishment, AmStur and the Palm dubbed the tin “Cleito,” paying respect to the “Mother of Atlantis.”
Cleito will also go down the first organic caviar in the United Arab Emirates, made with sturgeon roe. The price on this brand of caviar is very expensive, according to the AmStur’s website, with 1kg going for $3,568. The overall value of the Cleito tin is estimated at roughly $178,385, which is around the price of a new SUV.
