    Mondrian Doha, Qatar

The Qatari capital is welcoming a brand-new hotel, complete with 24-karat gold elevators, floating staircases and vibrant murals. The hotel boasts 360-degree views of the capital, overlooking the man-made Qatar Pearl Island in the city’s West Lagoon neighborhood. Dutch interior designer Marcel Wanders is credited for bringing life and vibrancy to the hotel, which boasts 270 rooms and suites. Upon first glance, the hotel is an Alice in Wonderland fantasy mixed with traditional Qatari design and architecture. Complete with seven restaurants and bars, guests can enjoy gourmet dishes from Wolfgang Pucks’ CUT or at Walima, the Qatari-inspired restaurant. Other amenities include the 20,000 square-foot Espa, which houses 11 treatment rooms, a traditional Turkish Hammam and heated garden experience.
